Default 1966 Carburetor. Need help!

Okay guys so my Carburetor was acting up so we went on to rebuild it followed everything looks 100% but apparently we messed up somewhere and we're getting gasoline shooting out of these 2 holes.

We checked the float and the needle and seat but that looked all good!

If anyone could throw me their 2 cents on what this could be I'd greatly appreciate it!

All I know is the float was set fine the needle was seating properly but when I cranked it over I was getting gasoline flowing out of those holes... Something isn't right I just can't find where it's not right.

It's a standard mechanical fuel pump.

i'd say your floats either either stuck, or the needle and seat not operating properly. take the top off again and check for float level. i guess the bowl is full to the brim.
I guess this is happening during crank already?

if the floats are floating? and the fuel inlet shutoff valve is sealing and the float level adjustment is proper and the bowl if full ... the inlet pressure will be roughly 5-7 psi w/ oem pump.

if inlet shut off valve is open then pressure will be roughly 3-4 psi at idle.

a shade tree mechanic can blow into clean tube connected to carb and verify if shut off valve is functioning.

Alright so I figured it out! It turns out the Needle and seat I got in my rebuild kit wasn't working it would seat properly but wouldn't seat enough to shut the fuel off apparently so I popped' the old one in there and it works fine so far.

can you see any defects on the new needle or seat?
