Engine Identification Code

My vehicle Identification plate on my 66 says it should have a C4 tranny (6), not a three speed manual. I want to confirm that my engine is what the ID tag says it is....... Is there an ENGINE CODE stamped somewhere on the block?

Take out the starter, and you will see it on the block behind the starter.
