Default Throwout bearing troubles

Finally was able to put a toploader 4 speed in my 69 mustang, went to fire it up and was quickly greeted with a metal scraping sound, with this sound I pressed in the clutch and the sound was still there but had changed pitch.

Upon taking out the throwout bearing I discovered that it had a bit of a wobble and wasnt anything like this other one I had laying around which was nice a greased up and had no wobble and seems a lot tighter (meaning I cant spin it as freely, but it still spins smoothly) than the "bad throwout bearing"

I know this "new" bearing works because we didnt have any problem with it in the car that it was in before and it has only been sitting out of a car for about 2 weeks.

So then I put the "new" throwout bearing in and now it only scrapes when I press the clutch in.
I had tightened up the clutch adjustment and the scraping is still there, maybe the throwout bearing slipped off the fingers of the bellhousing as I slid the transmission in (I put the bellhousing on before the transmission cause I have to twist the bellhousing to fit it in the car because of my headers).

any suggestions on what it may be exactly or any tricks I could maybe try?

I had to put on my bell housing first because I was doing it by myself and couldn't lift everything up from under the car to install. I think that I put the bearing on the tranny and slid the tranny into place. I didn't have the bearing free floating in there. Don't for get to lube the bearing.

Mines a 67 and I had the old Z bar set up that would disengage the clutch pushing from the front of the car to the rear. My TKO 500 5 speed that I have in now is the oposite I think.

You sure you didn't put the clutch plate in backwards? The springs on the hub are supposed to face towards the transmission, not the engine. I actually had a clutch that was labeled backwards, which made it confusing for a minute.

It's difficult, but not impossible.
