Default More Clutch issues

I have been having problems with my clutch since I installed and and ended up already going back in once to change a broken throwout bearing. Now it seems as if my clutch linkage is backing of and not allowing the clutch to engage at the same point. the first time it happened i figured it was a matter of a loose jam nut or something so I cranked the rods out and it was fine for a while but now is doing the same thing, to the point where you can notice the pedal is dropped below the brake pedal. I took the linkage back of and it doesn't seem like the linkage has moved at all. What can this be a bad pressure plate or maybe loose engine mounts? what do you guys think. I have 1965 with 87 302 with a 4 speed and running a zoom clutch kit

Is the fork or z bar(if you have one) bent?

When you press the clutch in does the balancer on the engine move out away from the block? Or can you move the balancer in and out?

the fork and z bar aren't bent as far as i can tell. I haven't noticed the balancer moving away from the block. I noticed the engine did move what seemed to be alot when the clutch pedal was depressed so I added a torq strap not to long ago.

The engine shouldn't move at all when you press the clutch.

that must be my problem then, so i'm assuming its my motor mounts? I'm looking at them now at different part places and notice some places have a kit that has 2 mounts that look like the bolt to the shock towers was this stock on all mustangs. I only have the two rubber pad mounts on the bottom?

Pry on them with a bar to see if they're separating anywhere. Engine and transmission mounts need to both be checked.

The zoom pressure plate is the problem. I have run them before and the Mustang linkage is not strong enough to operate that clutch. I would have to work on the linkage once a month until I got rid of the car. I would consider going with a different clutch or you will fight this problem forever.

yeah the zoom clutch does have a really hard pedal also. The frame bracket to the z bar is welded to the frame by the previous owner so when i replaced the clutch I replaced all the bushing but I couldn't get foam bushing on the frame side, i don't know if thats adding to the problem. I was thinking about going to the centerforce dual clutch because I heard it provides a light pedal. just today I finished making up some custom clutch linkage rods with hiem joints

It's welded to the frame?! Is it even possible to get the z-bar off the car without first removing the outer z-bar pivot?

yeah I just take of the bracket thats on the bell housing off and the z bar will come off it's a pain in the butt trying to fit it back up there though.
