Default Name That Part

Anyone care to guess what this part is? I was in the process of striping the dash getting ready for paint and I found this laying on the inside bottom. Not sure if it was just laying there or if it fell out of something I removed.

Looks like part of the ignition switch. Did yours come apart when stripping the dash?

Pretty sure that's a spring, not a resistor wire. It's the spring that forces the switch to return to the "ON" position from the "START" position when you release the key. Also the slot/hole on top looks to be where the key cylinder would go.

Here is a picture of everything I removed. Sorry don't have one of the back of the switches. I'll try to take a few this afternoon.

I think you found the inside of an ignition switch that was lost before you got here. Are there copper contacts on the backside of this?

I'm with Jp1967stang on this one. That's the resistor block for a headlight switch. Looks like a 70s style switch; the prev. owner could have used it as a quick replacement.

Kmatch, no there are no copper contacts on the back. Just three plastic "prongs" where it looks like it clips to another part / piece. I think you guys are correct that the previous owner did some sort of repair and left these behind.

Here are a few additional pics of the part in question. I also discovered a spring and what looks like some sort of contact that clips to the back of the part.
