Battery completely dead/drained?
Hello. I've been having this reoccurring problem with the battery or something I don't know what it is. If I go more than a week without turning on my mustang I have to jump start it to turn it on. First I took the battery to AutoZone so they can check it for free. The battery was no good so I bought another one. This was on January. I went to Mexico to visit family for a bout a week and a half and when I came back I tried turning on my mustang and it would make this weird noise when I would try to turn it on. I hooked on the cables and after about 10 minutes it finally turned on. This was yesterday. I was about to drive it right now and it is COMPLETELY dead. I can turn on/off my alarm and the radio won't even turn on. I feel like something is draining my battery. I don't think the battery is messed up considering it is less than 6 months old. What can it be?
This is a common problem with alarms that are installed wrong. Beside the fact that they are a false sense of security, they introduce a drain on the battery since they must be "active" to know when to go off.
Should being active drain your battery? No. Therefore, you have a short to ground that is draining your battery.
My advice is to ditch the alarm system. The pros who steal cars know how to disable them, so what is the point? They are more trouble than they are worth, as you know since you are having this problem. Combine that with 99.99999999% of the time they go off, it is a false alarm, makes them worthless. When was the last time you jumped off the sofa at the sound of an alarm thinking, "Someone is stealing a car!"? You cannot stop someone who really wants your car from stealing it. Those are the breaks. You can keep the honest people honest with alarms and kill switches, but they don't affect the pros.
Sorry, I don't mean this post to seem harsh, I just have a thing about people's alarms going off at 3am.

How old is the alarm and radio and did you have this problem before? If not before then its either one of them wired wrong if not them it can be anything.Mustangbradley im a repo man i hate towing a car around town with the alarm screaming after every bump lol.
Besides the noise, are you hindered from performing your work whenever you encounter an alarmed car? My guess is no.
Vato... I mean, Autozone, is barely one step above walmart in quality ofsome of their parts and even lower in quality of some of their tactics. Be leary.
"New" batteries, even high quality brands, can be bad off the shelf so have it tested by a reputable tester. Then have your car tested for an electrical draw starting with the alarm system. And anyone who might offer to "draw test" with a test light is of no use at all so avoid that kind of help.
Years ago I made a ton of money installing alarms. Years later I made a ton of money removing alarms...
