Exclamation Stalling issues with 1967 200cid

Hello everyone, im new to this site and am looking for some answers to solve my problem. My 67' Convertible straight 6 is stalling when i put it into gear. its really confusing to me because it doesnt happen evertime consistently. just sometimes randomly. it seems to happen after the cars been running and i turn it off to go into a store or something, then when i come back to start it, it takes a while for it to fire up. Once it gets running it really wants to stall out when i put it into gear. it just sputters and dies out especially when i go to give it gas. Once it starts going and i can get it up to a good speed it runs perfectly fine.

Had the asame issue with mine at one time. Ensure your fuel isn't heating up to the point of vaporizing int eh line. In other words, the engine is heating up the fuel in teh line. Also, assuming your idle isn't set correctly, asjust the idle screw and top it off with a bowl/seat adjustment.

Hope this helps.

I had the same EXACT problem. Turned out the rubber seal in the PCV valve hole in the valve cover was cracked and hard as a rock from age. I installed a new seal and no more problems. Take a look at your seal. If it's cracked or turned hard as a rock, that may be the problem. Let us know what you find out. Good luck!

I had a similar problem exactly like this. The idle wasn't set correctly, and setting it correctly pretty much took care of the problem. Adjust your carb and possibly your timing and see where that gets you. It could be something different, but it solved the problem for me.

I wonder if there has ever been one of these 200 six's that HASN'T had this problem? lol... (I am not mocking anyone here, I mean it!)

However, with the hot weather as of late , I am going with vapor lock as well.

To add to what the other guys have suggested check your fuel filter, it doesn't take much to plug that little filter going into the carb. Also check your fuel pump, they don't make them like the use to and if its not pumping enough fuel you will have problems. It doesn't take much fuel to idle but one you put a load to it its a different story.

Had the same problem, not sure exacly what i did that fixed it but, new fuel lines from tank to carb, carb rebuild, and fuel pump replacement. Mine would stall if I was trying to ease onto the gas. Played with the timing and smacked the carb around alil, then noticed I had a small hole in the fuel line. Replaced the line carb stopped shooting fuel, so I rebuilt the carb. Got done rebuilding the carb, noticed there was fuel gushing out of the fuel pump. Took the fuel pump off and low an behold about a 2inch crack in the pump that wasnt there when I changed the lines or rebuilt the carb. I have yet to rebuild my inline but I think its telling me something.
