Default Floor very hot from headers

My floor is very hot on the passenger side right where the header bends under the firewall. Is this much heat normal or could my pipe be too close?

I have two layers of that Lowes alumn. bubble insulation on it but man, it's hot.

Thoughts?

I know I am going to mix my own lizzard skin this winter, I just havet o find out what is the best paint to use on the floor instead of Ceramic as I don't want to prime/paint/then paint the skin on.

How close is the header to the firewall? Consider ceramic headers or a header wrap.

Maybe your exhaust temps are high due to a lean condition?
If not, maybe fiberglass insulation between the header and floor will help?

I'll try to get pics in the next day or two.
