Yup that is the reason the towers would have holes in them. I have never fully understood why they thought it was easier to cut the tower than it was to just unscrew the plug and screw in a 90* zerk.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at the upper A arms and I noticed on on the nipples broke off. But, those big bolts that are on the outside of it, what is it there for?

I had the same problem. I put in new upper control arms, then greased them, a year later the left was making noise. I tried to put grease in but it would not take any. pulled the it out, took off the grease fitting and then the big nut. the threads on the big nut were dry and rusting. i put grease on it, put in a new grease fitting and shot grease through the fitting before putting the big nut back on, problem solved. 6 months later I had to do the other side. 4 years now and no problem. good luck.

the bolts are how you center the arm during assembly

So I finally figured out where that damn noise was coming from!!! it was the freaking sway bar!!!
