Nope, she's been touched.
Red dash, steering column, door panels, and red over spray all over the engine bay.

Very pretty.

P.S. if you are going to go through the trouble of tapping up the back plate, you should do the front one too

I think it would be nice to leave it minimally molested if that makes sense.

Right now I am at the "okay, let's see what little bugs I can find" stage.

I love it the way it is, so I will try not to molest it too much.

Update:

Since last I wrote, the car overheated on the freeway after traveling 30 miles. Upon further examination, the head gasket was blown. Upon even further examination, the ENTIRE motor was extremely worn out. The cylinder and pistons were grooved; the head and valves were shot; a couple of the piston rods were knocking and the inside of the block was majorly rusted. The cylinders were bored out to the maximum.

The motor is now in the hands of a very reputable machine shop/engine builder for a total overhaul (longblock). The new cam with have some extra punch, the valves hard-seated and the cylinders will be bored and sleeved to the original size. The motor will also be "balanced."

Total cost: $1500 (hopefully)

The shop will build the motor, and myself and my brother will put it in (I'm more of his assistant).

Should be back in two weeks. Is this price about right?

Car looks great, to bad about the engine problems. When you get it back you should have a strong solid car. The repair cost seems ok to me but it's been a while since I had my 66 redone.

Not that it matters as I too inherited a few "unknown" issues when I bought mine but what did you pay? Did the seller mention the engine issues?

$6k..."Runs great..."

That's okay. There's no rust, the lines are straight and I got a bench seat. I'm still a very happy man.
