Default Finally posting my 2.5 year build

I thought I was going to post my build online as I went, but I'm lazy! I guess the 2.5 years and still piddling with this thing is a hint of that... Anyway, here's a summary of the build from start to (nearly) finished.

It came with an inline 6 and lots of rust at no extra charge. The pics tell a story, but not seen in detail is the GT40 heads that were ported by me (16 hours) then replaced with AFRs, a 302 that split the sides of the block due to freeze, a transmission that couldn't handle a simple 6 ft drop to concrete, a 2500 stall converter replaced with a 3400 (NICE!), along with the usual details you miss when you're too lazy to grab the camera. Anyway, poke around and come back here with any questions. No, this isn't a commercial! I'm DONE rebuilding at this level so don't ask!

Thank you much! We just finished detailing it for a show tomorrow and I still have wax on my hands typing this. There's a fine example of plans getting out of hand - April of 09 it was to be a driver, not worry about dings, mild 302, cruise to shows as transportation, and tomorrow I'll be entering it in it's 3rd (I think...) show and something around 360-375hp. Geeze.

I love it!
Your build is somewhat like our '65.

Great album, I think your story applies to 90% of us restoring/modding one of these cars. I pulled my engine/trans 3 yrs. ago because the flexplate had chipped a few teeth and I couldn't start it without turning the crank to get to good teeth, ALL it needed was a flexplate! I figured 'while I'm at it', then 289 has been stroked to 333ci, I've installed an AOD (as you have), 9" and it goes on.
Did you drive the car with the 2500 stall before switching to the 3400? What are the pros/cons for cruiser vs. perf. in the 1K RPM difference?

I like this picture, first thing I thought of when I saw your face was that of a 3 yr. old with a rubiks cube to solve....

I also went through modding parts only to decide it's never going to fit (long tube headers with AOD and PS) and ended up wasting weeks/months of time to decide to try something else or go back to stock temp. due to funds.
