well it finally happened. some one broke my drivers side glass and also stole my console. found some consoles on ebay and side glass but seeing as i have good insurance i wondered if there are places that still make the side glass. and how much would it cost installed. i need this info before the adjuster comes out, to make sure they get the cost right. the consoles i found on ebay are $600.00. found side glass for $185.00 plus shipping.

 

i know its sucks to be broken into.My 06 GT Convertible had the drivers glass pryed out.Had 4300 in stereo equiptment taken as well as $3800 in damage to the dash and scratches.What did my insurance do for me????Nothing, stereo was not covered and they fought everything.

Take it to a reputable shop so they can handle the adjuster, usually they know whatever they can read in a manual and no hands on.

 

well i have state farm, have had them for 30 years. found out the cost of replacement is $600.00 form our local glass shop, safelight glass, there nation wide. found the console on ebay, $600.00. i have $250.00 deductible. figured if i got the $950.00 then i could buy the glass myself, found it new on ebay for $345.00 plus shipping. and the dash also. well see tomorrow.

 

they will not give you the cash directly.

I cant even cash a check from Mercury because they want proof the car was repaired.I didnt get a invoice and the shop is out of business, so im out 575 bucks.

 

well safelight glass is doing the job, having the glass overnight-ed. state farm will pay them direct, $680.00. they stole my console so state farm says there going to have to send me a check for that. seeing as you cant get original one anymore. what i did was print out a few off ebay, well there for a 69, and sent them those. they $$$+++. around $600.00 +
