Traction bars
[QUOTE=P Zero;7724126]I used to have some lakewood traction/ladder bars back in the day, those things were sweet. My car would lift up an inch when I'd romp on it. No hop --ever!/QUOTE]

I've got the black Lakewood slapper bars on mine. They are the ones that act as the spring/shock mounting plate. I have no wheel hop at all. I needed mounting plates that would work with the 3 inch axle tubes on the Versailles rear end. This worked out nicely. At some point I may switch, but for now its fine.
I am not a fan of the traction master type bars for a couple of reasons..First I don't like modifications that aren't reversible and they are weld on....The second is the bar and the leaf spring travel on different arcs so the suspension binds up...
I agree and the Cal Tracs are adjustable. Everycar is not the same nor is every track, so how could a "fixed" traction bar work for all situtions?
With your set up you don't have subframe connectors?
Caltracs are nice. Personally, I love my Slide-A-Links which are very similar but use a rubber bushing to help lessen the shock when you dump the clutch. Since installing them, I never have wheel hop. Now I have plenty of tire spin on the street and even 60-70' on the track, but never hopping.
IMO, slapper bars are junk from the the early days.

There are many different brands of slapper bars..Some are junk like the ones that just clamp to the spring and have the rubber snubbers about 3 inches below the springs so they never make contact...A properly setup slapper bar can work very well though..
