Original Playboy Mustang?
I'm new here, I joined because I've done a bit of searching about the 'playboy' mustangs but haven't turned up a whole lot. I'm in the process of going down to look at an original playboy pink mustang, supposedly owned by a bunny herself. one owner car, 58k miles, all original. She sent me two pictures, one of the car, the other of the plate that came with the car. She says she also has a photo of her and Heff exchanging the keys. Is it possible this is one of the original cars?
Is there somewhere I could read up on these cars? Maybe one of you guys knows a bit about them?
I'll post more about it once we drive down to see it.

Sorry if the pictures are huge.

The car appears to be in great shape. Is the owner asking for a premium because of the "playboy pink" status?
The only thing I've ever read regarding Playboy Pink Mustangs was from a book I picked up on clearance, called "Color History of the Ford Mustang Prototypes, Racers & Specials" by Tom Corcoran.
In it, he states that it is VERY common for people to mistakenly believe that have found a Playboy Pink Mustang. In fact, he states that the only Mustangs provided as "Official Cars of the Playmate of the Year" a were 1964 1/2 convertible given to Donna Michelle and a 1969 Shelby GT-500 given to Connie Kreskie. Lastly, he states that the 1968 Playmate Car was an AMX - not even a Ford.
Take this for what it's worth - just because its in a book doesn't mean its correct. Good luck with continuing your research, and please keep us posted as to what you find. The owners documentation may trump all. What was her name?!?

Look for the tag if its there. It should have the VIN, options, and read "Special Paint WT9036." Anyone could order that color (not to say that Hef didn't order a gaggle of Stangs for his girls). There's a local woman here that has one.
might just be. post the door data tag
i get the same info about the playmates of year: 1968 AMX, 1969 shelby 500GT
however if the car is 1968, it might well have been the 1967 playmate, there's no info about a car there. lisa baker.
what's the name of the women you're trying to get the car of? It could well be genuine, especially if she has pics to proof

She's only asking $5,000 for the car. Her daughter doesn't want it, and she hasn't driven the car since the day that picture was taken. I'll take pictures when we drive down to see it. I'll get the vin/door tag numbers and report back. It'll be early december before we can get down there
