Default VIN lookup

Does anyone know free site where I can do a vin lookup on my 1965 Mustang? I would like to try to find how many owners there were before me.

I don't think there is a way to find that out, unless the DMV knows.

you gotta remember that these mustangs were around before a lot of those records were being kept. Stuff like carfax can only get info that's been documented.

edit: I should say that it's not that that kind of stuff wasn't documented back in the day, but it wasn't electronic. It was all on paper. Same thing why a lot of these mustangs don't have titles.

Most of the dmv stuff on paper got tossed out 10 years ago because 90% of those cars ain't on the road anymore. And most dmvs won't tell you anything because of privacy.
