Default 1968 Mustang 302 Offer

I found a 1968 Mustang 302 for sale for $5000. It needs a new paintjob, some work on the roof, new carpeting, and a new headliner. Other wise it is in very good shape. The body has only a little bit of rust on the bottom, and the engine and transmission (automatic) are in excellent condition (I do not think the engine is stock). Im guessing i can haggle him down to around $4500 to $4000. Would this be a good price, or is it nothing special?

Fastback, notchback? If it's a decent car, I'd say it's a reasonable price.

Check out the rust issues carefully, but yeah. That is a good and reasonable price for that car. I paid that amount for oldyeller back 10 years ago.

The rebuilt engine is not an issue. What are the rust issues?

Ok, I got some pictures of it but I couldnt get anything of the rust. I'll try to get a pic of it soon and post it. I also found out that he installed power steering and rebuilt the engine. Anyways here are the pics i got:

They also have a new hood, new headliner, and new parts for the instrument panel not installed that come with the car.

Thanks alot for your help

the outside looks pretty nice, and so does the interior. Now the engine can use a cleaning up or two. NOw Go start Haggling.

From the pics, it looks nice, but like Chares said, go haggle.

Not to sound so rude, but what about those big *** holes in the stock towers? That would be my turn off on the car, but thats me!

Those shock towers are SCARY! You should be able to haggle him down quite a bit if you're willing to fix them. I certainly would not drive the car in the condition they are in.
