I just picked up some heads
i got a pair of trick flow 170 heads with pushrods and trickflow 1.6 roller rockers.I am really excited to get them in.
and i got it all for $600
Can i use me stock 66 head bolts or do i need to change them?

I would swap them out for an aftermarket set. I have a set of trickflow head bolts I don't need anymore. PM me if you want them.
Most aftermarket heads, including the Trick Flows iirc, are designed for use with 351W style head bolts. That means you need special aftermarket head bolts (ARP makes them) for use on a 289/302 block, or special bushings with 289/302 style bolts, as previously mentioned.

Don't just bolt them on using those push rods, check the length. On my motor I had to use different lengths for the intake and exhaust, I hear this is common. It's easy to do and won't cost you a dime.
Forgot about that. Yes, you absolutely will need different length pushrods. Twisted Wedge heads are designed like that. Comp Cams makes a pretty slick adjustable pushrod for measuring. It's something like $15 @ Summit.
they came with a set of hardened push rods as well. I will still measure though. Im not in a hurry. Im going to drop them off at a buddys shop and have him go over them first before i bolt them in.
that's a brilliant deal :-) you should have some fun with them
Always sue new headbolts (I never re-use old since some of them are designed to stretch and I don't know which ones are and are not). as for the bushings, you'll see if you need them once you put an old bolt into the hole (with head off car). But if you have the trick flow number it should be easy to find out.
and yes, absolutely go measure the pushrod length. it doesn't take long it's just tricky the first time. especially with hydraulic lifters

great deal on the heads!! congrats.
I would go with the comp cams adj. pushrod. From what I've seen it's the only one you can install and test by turning over the engine with it installed(by hand of course).
It would be better to go with new head bolts. Last time I re-used head bolts on a performance engine I ended up lifting the head. Of course this was on 25lbs of boost at 7k rpm...
