Default I need quick help!!!

So I come home from school to day and smell the strong scent of gas. i have a gas leak out of the rubber hose connecting the fuel sending unit to the metal fuel line. Is there even supposed to be a rubber hose here or should it be all steel the whole way. Ill post a picture in a minute.

There is a short rubber hose about 2 inches long that connects the sending unit to the line.

ok should i just go ahead and drain the gas instead of let it drip. I really dont have any empty gas cans so the gas would go into buckets. Eight gallons worth.

If you are gunna drain it I really wouldn't recommened just havin 8 gallons of gas sitting around in open air buckets. Go get you 2 5 gallon gas cans. They are like 5 bucks.

I cant drain it my moms rather dumb when it comes to cars and she wont let me. Hey what do i care i didnt pay for the gas and im defintately not cleaning the garage up after i offered to just drain it. I was just gonna put it into clean milk jugs but NO. My drip bucket has some antifreeze in it from the radiator remvoal so that gas is bad. But no ill just let it leak all night[:@]

Yeah, man, IF you got a piece of hose lying around, pop it off real quick and put it on. Oh, that reminds me, man has a hole in it too, but it's not leaking yet. I need to get my lazy butt out there and fix it.

what do you mean pop it on with gas in the tank. and plus i really dont have a hose. To make things worse my dad is out of town. when i asked him if i could drain the tank he said yes. But of course my mom calls him back saying the leak is SMALL. theres a damn hole in the rubber tube. So now my dad is on my moms side even. And plus what am i supposed to do leave it leaking ALL WEEK and then my parents will make me clean it up because "its my car". well **** if its my car why cant i decide if the gas tank needs draining or not. Im just letting off some steam[:@][:@]

It's ok, If i were you take a hunk of tape, or some glue and patch it to hold it til you get the hose. Go get the hose, and yes you can change it while there is gas in the tank. You must work quickly, and pop the old one off, and stick the new on one, you'll lose a little gas, but not much.
