69 mach 1 vent panel vent? opening
I took off the dash pad and clock panel. On the panel where it curves in, there appears to be vent opening. I don't have anything attached to the panel, what should be there?

The only vent behind the dash I can think of would be AC vents. One in the middle and one on each end. Perhaps your car had AC at one time. I took this pic during disassembly, it is the center vent.
