Default stainless window trim installation

Hi all,

It has been a while since I have been on here, but I have been making some progress on my 66 restoration. I am currently about to tackle putting the windows back in. I took all the windows apart so that I could clean all the stainless trim and the windows. Now I am trying to put the stainless trim back on the windows. Does anybody know of a good alternative for the rubber seal material that was originally used? I bought a 4ft roll of the stuff from NPD and it was pretty worthless. All it was was a flat strip about an inch wide.

Thet stuff is what I call window tape, it is generally used to hold glass in the bottom glass channel, (near the regulator). I didn't ever remove the top trim, but I imagine that the tape might have been used here also.

It is used by folding it inside of the trim, like a "U", and then pushing the glass into the channel (or trim in this case). You will want to get tape wet with some solvent like gasoline or thinner, so that the glass slides in. (once the solvent dries, the take will stick)

You could use some kind of glue instead though.
