Default Questions while installing aluminum heads

I am bolting on a set of trick flow aluminum heads. I have new ARP bolts. my heads have not been drilled to the larger bolt size so i do not need the shim washers that came with the bolts. However, do i need washers with the bolts? the factory heads did not have washers but they were also steel heads. Will the arp bolts get an accurate torque on the bare aluminum?

the arp bolts i had came with washers also it will keep the alum from getting galled up when the bolt head is torqued ...you need to oil the bolt heads to get an accurate reading...

Yes you need washers, they should have come with the ARP set. Make sure you lube up the washers and bolt heads before installing with a good molly lube.

mine did not come with regular washers. I went ahead and drilled out the heads so the washer/shims will fit properly and lubed and installed.
