Default how to get jba headers in engine compartment

I have a coupe with 302/C4 engine/trans. I bought the JBA shorty headers and I don't see any way to get enough clearance for the headers to clear the shock towers. I was looking at the Ron Morris motor mounts but was was wondering how the transmission mount would work if the engine is moved??

It says that it lowers the engine 1/2" - is this how it clears the shock towers?

Can anybody give me some of their experience fitting JBA headers to these Ron Morris mounts with the existing transmission mount and anything they did to get the JBA headers to fit?

Thanks

are you trying to install them from under the car or from above. I've never been able to get a pair of aftermarket headers in from the top. usually have to lift motor a few inches and install from under the car.

have 66 mounts but they did say 65/66 on the package

actually, I had the mounts on the engine and was trying to put in with a cherry picker. It seems that the distance from the flange to the outside curve on the pipe is about 3/4" too short..... 68 dustin - do you have the ron morris mounts? maybe I should try going in from the bottom/dropping the engine in with the headers/pipes in place.....

thanks guys. i think I will call Ron Morris tomorrow. We fabricated a piece to connect the stock manifold to the JBA header back exhaust and the car runs and sounds great - 2 1/2" diameter with the trumpets going thru the rear valence sounds throaty and looks great. But I really want the headers on there for the added breathing and the sound.........

no i have the stock motor mounts on my 68, but everytime i did a motor swap i had to put the headers on after the motor was pretty much in. Sometime i could get the passenger side in with dropping the motor in, but both could never do.
