starter install confusion?

Default starter install confusion?

so i got a new starter from Auto zone. i only see one bolt on the side of it for a wire is there not two? and where do you hook up the wires to on the starter if they come from a separate source.

The single cable goes from the starter (plug on side) and then goes up to the solenoid on the pass. side next to the battery. The Ignition goes to the right side and the crank goes to the left small nuts.

it is a 71 ford torino 500 with a 302 BTW.

No prob. on your tach, red goes to a switched positive wire (only on with the key) black to ground, green to the negative side of the ignition coil and the white to a light wire.

ok what do you mean switched positive wire. is that on the steering column.

sorry meant to say it the spot for the red wire on the steering column?

Switched positive is when you turn the key to on, that is when you get power. Otherwise, no power
