Default Pro 5.0 shift boot help!

Hey guys and gals, first post here.. This forum has helped me through countless problems with my mustang, but this one I cant seem to find an answer on. I recently did a T5 conversion on my 66 fastback with a Pro 5.0 shifter. I am having trouble finding a shift boot that will fit over the shifter and retain a stock appearance that will still bolt to the 4 holes in the trans tunnel. I would rather not go the leather type boot route... I did read somewhere that someone used a Hurst b-4 boot, but cant remember if it did work or not... Anyone been through this issue? Anyone know of a boot that will work? Thanks for your help in the past, and now.

Or know if a stock type boot can be trimmed to fit? I'm tired of ordering parts that don't work haha thanks!

I just went with the lokar leather with the screws. I know it doesnt fit what you are using but it worked nicely

Hey Mike-
I have the same issue. Did you find a solution for a factory looking boot for the pro 5.0 shifter?
Thanks
Jim

Hey Jim,

Please ignore my post in the forum regarding you haha. I did not see this thread re-opened before I posted the new one.. But in regards to the shift boot... As of yet, no I have not found a solution haha. It's still sitting with an open hole and shifter. I was waiting to do the interior of the car before I took this problem head on. I do remember reading somewhere that the "hurst b-4" shifter boot would work, but could not find any solid definites before I spent the money to order one. If you happen to find one that works please let me know and I will let you know as well.

what stick are you mounting to the shifter? I bought a Hurst shifter handle and it came with a nice rubber boot that worked.

james i dig your handle. I have the hurst that only has one bend in it and it would be better if it was like yours. I have to reach pretty far to shift to 5th.
