I've got a long relationship with this guy. Been pretty good to work with - I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. I will ask him to fix right as craig71 mentioned and just see what he thinks is fair.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but if he painted over that i wouldn't let him touch my car again.A good body man would see a big filler spot and ask why is that there and see what's under it,A bad body man will just sand it and paint it over not my car not my problem. It could be he didn't know better i have seen some that can just paint not fix any problems that pop up.

Understand your point. I'll have to think about it. Overall was happy with work he did and get a lot of compliments on the paint. I do think he took the easy route fixing last time and probably knew better. I have a 66 another shop that is fitting and finishing for me (original painter to back up). May have them look at it to get their opinion.

Hi,
When I have paint problems, I go to autobody101 forum and post the problem. These guys are to paint & body, as we here, are to all things mechanical. The guys there have given me a world of learning. Not sure what you mean by "spot has raised again". Is the filler lifting of the body or the primer/painting lifting from the filler?
As was mentioned, move on as you will not get any satisfaction (remuneration) from the painter, unless you have a contract and warranty.
Good Luck!

pics of the spot?? sounds like it might be solvent popping from improper flash times between coats of paint...last time was the filler actually raised or just the paint

shops will gurantee their work, that doesnt mean they will gurantee the materials used and will like push the blame to that since they have no control over that to some extent. Again, trying to prove that is impossible.

Hi,
It does stick out. Looks like classic rust bubble, which, is even worse. This being the case, the inner wheel house is going. UGh!

Does look like a rust bubble - but is is solid and there was not any rust there at least befre the work was done - was dented.

I had a bubble similar to that on the top of my 66. It eventually cracked (about 10 years after the paint job). When we took it in this year to have it painted my painter said that it looked like a little bit of some substance got on it and the paint didn't adhere correctly and that was why it bubbled up. There was no rust underneath and this was the only spot on the whole car that had any problem.
