Default 1971 302

Whats up guys. I've got a 65 mustang coupe that originally came with a 200 I6. When I was about 14-15 years old my dad and I decided to rebuild a mustang so I could have it as my first car. So we rebuilt it. Swapped the rear end over to a 5 lug. Did the Mustang II front suspension with coil overs, rack and pinion steering, etc. I was young and didnt know what power really was then, so I said screw it, lets just put the little 200 back in it. I doubt my dad woulda let me have a V8 as my first car anyhow. But the car was finished, a cool little cruiser. It was "too old" and "too slow" for me back in high school so I got a 2000 Mustang GT as my daily driver. Well anyhow, the 65s 3 spd non-syncro manual took a dump on me and got stuck in 1st gear. Now I'm looking for a tranny. I was thinking T-5 swap, but honestly, I'm not going to spend that money to buy all the conversion parts for a 200. My thinking is I rebuild this 1971 small block 302 I got laying around, replace the 200 and then get a T-5 or something similar. My question is, where's the best place to look for parts for this 302. I kinda wanna dump some money into it to get it past the stock power of a 302 while I'm at it. Maybe some heads, cams, bore it out a little, and whatnot. So whats my best route for the best money here, and wheres the best place(s) to look. Thanks yall. The cars been off the road for about a year or so now, so I'm tired of seeing it sitting around. lol

Did a little looking. Anyone familiar with Summit Racing's kits? Any good?

Those kits are only good if you want just a oem rebuild,And i don't like the cork gaskets and multi piece oil pan gasket either. If you want more power i would have your block stroked or find a short block stroker then pick out the heads and cam you want. You can search around online there is a ton of ford small block builds in different magazines. Most will tell you what it cost and the power it made.
