has anyone put a dash out of a 06 or newer dash in there 69 70 if so how hard was it if not should i post on here when i do it

 

Sounds like a big headache to me.Its gonna take a ton of modding cutting making things fit.

 

Rather than try to adapt a newer mustang dash to an older mustang, I bought a slipcover to over the padded part. Then new clear plastic gauge covers, led's, and gauge faces. Got a good look for about $100.

Then I saw the Dakota Digital dash for the 69-70 Mustang, ordered one in red carbon fiber. Easy one day project, outstanding gauge presentation, adjustments out the wazoo. Speedometer calibrates in five minutes from inside the car (I change tires a lot). Alarms can be set on the signals, optional audibles. Outputs a signal for cruise control (coming soon). Had problems with the first display head but they expedited a replacement at no charge. This totally blows away the first remodel I did. Only weak spot is I think maybe the tach does not keep up with the actual engine speed, but on the other hand the 351C engine speed increases extremely quickly; I'm not sure of the lag yet, just an impression.

If you're not familiar, google it. The DD system has a 4"x4"x 1/2" microprocessor which I velcro'd to the firewall. All the signal wires connect to the microprocessor. Then a single CAT-5 computer type cable connects that data to the display head. Times zero to 60, quartermile speed and time, max rpm, max speed, etc etc. data is available. Not cheap but if I don't spend it now the kids will fight over it later.

 

There is gauge panels that let you run whatever gauges you want.There is a few different ac kits,You can get a din size radio bezel and run a modern radio.A lot of modern stuff can be added to a point tho.

 

thing is the pure uglyness of the 69 70 dashes almost made me pass on this car i have no dash at the moment so im going to make a 06 or newer dash fit somehow or i will spen a ton on money and fail

 

If you pull it off take some pictures,I have seen a fox body interior in a 66 it looked out of place.

 

One thing to keep in mind, the 06+ mustangs are fully digitally controlled and integrated. The system that runs all the interior (including gauges and climate control) is called CAN-BUS, and is linked directly to the engine's ECU. Making those electronics work in a classic would be so close to impossible as to not be worth trying it.

If you're just after the dash pad/panels, and are going to go about fabbing your own cluster to fit in behind the panels, I wish you the best of luck. I also think you're going to have a difficult time finding climate controls to fit the cutouts in the center stack.

 

Ummm....What?.. Isn't that what they are trying to model after these days?

 

i had cancer last year and it left me with 0 fat so the heater wont work changed my mind i get cold when it's 80 out so i will direct my attention elsewhere
