Hello, I will not be using the P.S pump for this engine and am having trouble figuring out what pulleys or brackets I need to make this work.
I still have the alt. and the crankshaft pulley tied together but originally the P.S pump and the water pump and the crank all worked in unison but now that I have no P.S pump the single groove pulley on the water pump is too far back to engage anything.
I am sure that originally there was an option for these engines not to have P.S and I am guessing that possibly there was a different pulley avail. for the water pump that would make this happen.
Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for. I need to find the parts needed within the scrapyards but just need to know what I should be looking for.
Thanks for any help

You should just be able to do some modifications to the alternator brackets to allow you to space it back a little so it will line up with the crank and water pump belt....I was running a setup off an 80s style pickup truck..It was very simple just having a long bolt threaded into the head and a bracket from the water pump to the bottom of the alternator for belt tension..Just by adding or subtracting washers and tweaking the lower bracket I could space the alternator back or forwards quite a bit.
