starter question
what aftermarket starters are u guys running and how do u like them? i have a 68 mustang 302 with a t5 manual trans. I'm thinking about upgrading to a later solenolid & mini starter out of a 92-95 mustang. My starter seems to always wear out about every 2 years. (high compression) So i'm done with kragen's junk
Can't help with a brand to recommend, but are you using a heat shield for your starter to protecte it from the header/exhaust manifolds heat?
A starter will only be reliable if it's protected from the direct heat of the exhuast.
You'll also need to consider a more powerful battery (CA or CCA rating) depending on what you're already running if you go with the high TQ mini starters. They can draw up to twice as much current as a more traditional style starter.

i already have a aftermarket high amp alt. and battery. I dont think it would really matter with a heat sheild, due to it's struggling even when the car is cold. The cheap kragen stuff just can cut it.
MSD make a pretty kick *** looking one but ive never used them.
