Default Need help identifying rear axle

As the title saids: i need some help identifying the rear axle that came with my new 1969 Mach 1 project car. The front puzzles me, it's not something i'm familiar with. It doesn't look like a 8"to me from the front, but it does from the back. Before you ask, i looked for the tag, but unfortunately, that isn't there anymore. Also i know there aint no castingnumbers on the rearaxle itself.

Here's a few pics:

Thanks in advance.

Thx, never knew the 8" front part looked like that. I assumed all of them had horizontal and vertical bars.

I quess i'll have to disassemble the axle to figure out what axle it is exactly. Will get there later this year, need to do some welding to the body first.

That looks like an 8" axle from a pre-1967 vehicle, probably Mustang. The cross-hatched design appeared in 1967 and used the axle housing drain but went to the pumpkin drain in 1968 or maybe really late 1967.
Best,
Al
