help with aftermarket alternator bracket
So I have a single wire alt that I installed a few years ago.. I ended up with a problem when the self adjuster fell off. ( I had to rig it to begin with because the alt pully did not line up with anything.)
So i purchase a new alt. bracket set up from summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sm.../model/mustang
Nd it is virtually the same as the previous set up i had. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sm.../model/mustang
THe instruction do not match what I have. I am wondering if 1: i have a different water pump. Mine has the exit on the lower rt. (or the passenger side) and also the T. stat housing also come out at a 45. If i it was a 90* it would work a little better.
Any Idea?
Also, If any of you are running the single wire alt with an aftermarket bracket could you pleasae post pics.
Thanks Guys..

I have them on a couple of cars. I get the spacing right using a steel straight edge then modify the bracket that is used to tension the belt (stock Ford bracket). No problems in many years of driving. In the Summit photo, it looks like the've done the same thing to move the alternator either forward or backward so that the belt will line up.
