Super Boss Lawman
Antone knnow how quick the Super Boss 429 was? I knnow it had near 1200 hp, but I'm wondering what 1/4 mile times were on that thing. For those who don't know what I'm talking about-its a 70 boss 429 mustang with a 6-71 wieand blower.
Ford created two 1970 Boss 429 Lawmen Mustangs for tour to U.S. troops. Only one of these 1200-horsepower beasts survives today, and it was sold to wrestler Bill Goldberg in the 2003 Barrett-Jackson Auction.

I have no idea how fast it was, but with that much ponies, it had to break the sound barrier if it could get a grip. Thanks for bringing up this interesting topic.

I didn't think anyone would have those stats. They had Goldberg on a show like a week ago where he was testing the car out down the strip. The only thing they said was that it hit 180mph in around 8.5 seconds-I heard that and I was like holy crap. So whether that's accurate or not, it's still one beast of a car.

You will notice that I edited Nick, because I certainly don't have those figures. Can you come up with them? Or are you just being a ***** tonight.

Plus is afternoon or late morning everywhere in the lower 48 [:-]
AS for coming up with 1/4 numbers.....2 promotional cars were made....do you really think they have 1/4 numbers on them? They billed them as 1200 HP when they really made sub 800 at the back tire (according to an article published in 2000) so any 1/4 times would easily disprove the amount of claimed HP.

I have not seen the article you mentioned but let's keep in mind that horsepower measured at the wheels is a relatively new concept. Back when those 9's were built, everyone used brake horsepower as a measuring tool. I don't think the HP claims were that far out of the ball park.
