roll bar question

roll bar question
I'm contemplating a roll bar, and glanced at the NHRA rules as a starting point. It appears the 11.50+ cars require a 6 point, and must have a top and bottom 6" mounting plate bolted together, or welded to the rocker sill. two simple questions, how the heck do you get a 6" square .125 plate to fit in a 66 coupe, that's like putting a lazy boy recliner in the drivers seat. Second, if the 2 rear points use the trunk floor, rear subframe to mount, you can't use a bottom plate under the trunk floor cuz the subframe is in the way. Does this mean when welding the mount plates, you only need to top plate, not the bottom plate under the car? I also noticed the rules don't discuss a 4 point rollbar, or did I miss that section?
Again, just trying to understand the way it's mounted and do it properly.

Looked at SOLO2 and those rules appear to be very similar, but they allow a 1.5" bar @ .120, or 1.75" bar at .095, but use similar mounting. Still want a clarification on the bottom plate (under the car) when you're welding in a rollbar.
