Default rack and pinion with headers

I am going to purchase a power rack and Pinion set up for my 66. When I look at the different systems they all say for stock manifold. Will i be able to use a power rack and pinion with my long tube headers?

I would only listen to the manufacturer of the rack you will be buying, you could call em and ask.

More than likely you will need to mod the headers with a R&P.

I've got the newest unisteer setup in mine, don't see how it could interfere with any headers, it is way out of the way.

How about the shaft to the pinion? The FR pinion joint was right where a header tube should be.

I run a rack and pinion setup in mine and all it did was open up a lot more space. I think that they advertise it to be setup with stock headers to let people know that you can put this system in without having to modify too much more. You should be fine with aftermarket headers. I run a set nice set of large Hookers and they don't even come close to interfering. Removing the clutch Z bar helped as well.

On my FR setup I tried 2 or 3 different types of headers before I broke down and gave them a call. I wound up speaking with the owner / CEO of the company and asked him which headers to use and he said that they fitted their setup using JBA shorties. So I bought a set and it all fit like a glove.
