Default Broke it need some help

Ok, while working on getting this car running after I bought it because my starter froze up I ran into a new issue. back story....
I have had the car started and running three times.
1- in the garage of whom I bought it from (ran for 5-6 minutes no problems sounded great)

2- started in same garage again no problems then drove 200 feet and put on a trailer (6" of snow on ground so this took some time and some work to do pulling forward and pushing things like this and it was 6 degrees out)

3- starter froze on drive home or while running durring the #2 and it wouldn't start when I got it home. so I fixed some electrical things on the way to replacing the starter. started and sounded good for a second then a loud tap on the passager side valve cover.

engine was only at idle since it was COLD probably 1800 rpm. we shut it down and pulled the cover and an intake side roller rocker was off letting the rod hit the cover. the nut is cracked across the top but not the hole way down. My guess was that is backed after the crack even though it is a locking nut enough to throw the rocker. so what to do????
1 - take the nut off take it to parts store and get a replacement???
2 - order all new roller rockers and nuts to be safe???

I suspect something caused the nut to crack. Is that pushrod bent?

Nope the pushrod is good, I thought the same thing but can't figure out why it cracked past maybe a void in the metal and the extra cold temp???

I cant open the image.

I would order a matching nut from summit. You may have to order the whole set but it shouldnt be too expensive.

Inspect the stud! those should be grade 8 nuts and studs. NOT EASY TO BREAK. but, cold may have done it.

You may as well take off the other cover and find top dead center and adjust all the valves. IF your not sure how to do this it is pretty easy. you just follow the firing order and turn the engine 1/2 turn between sets of vavles.
