Default Steering column harness 67 FB

I have purchased all new wiring for my 67 FB. The wiring harness has been installed in the steering column but I have yet to attach the connector to the wiring. There are 10 numbered contacts on the socket numbered 1 thru 10. The #1 should have a red wire running to it. Both the old and new harness include a red wire. All other wires match up also.
But the under dash wire harness connecter does not include a red wire....therefore the
#1 socket is wireless.(all other sockets match up)
This red wire is attached along with a blue wire above the hazard switch on the turn signal switch.
When I contacted "Mr Mustang" about the missing red wire on the U D harness...they informed me the 67 did not use the red wire.

Can anyone explain this or confirm what I have been told by "Mr Mustang".....I do not want to plug everything in and find out a few months down the road (hopefully)when I am up and running that I should have had a red wire hooked up to steering column harness?

What is the red wire used for and why is it on the old and new column harness?????
