Default 302 question and conversion help

I have a 66 I6,

Any 302 should fit right
Also. Will any parts from a 1998 mustang work.
IE power steering. Or break conversion.

i don't think it is just as easy as switching out the engines. your 6 cyl should have 4 lug wheels and a 7 1/4 rear. 8 cyl cars have 5 lug wheels and 8 and sometimes 9 inch rears. also motor mount may be different. not sure about the trans hook ups. not sure about the '98 parts.

yeah...he's right. Those I-6 motor mounts will NOT work with a 302. Front suspension on a I-6 car is lighter (weaker) than a V-8 model, too. Radiator may be different, too. Going from a 6 to a V8 means lots of upgrades elsewhere if you want the car to last very long afterwards.

Also the 1998 accessories are for a 4.6, they will not bolt up to a 302 without some custome bracket work. It can be done, but probably not worth it. Get a 302 out of a 88-95 mustang with the accessories you want and either convert to efi then or swap out the manifolds for a carb setup. O and all the other stuff above.
