My power steering cap does not have a little dip stick, how much should I be adding? I kind of just eyeballed it but the on fluid bottle it says not to over fill.

 

The reason not to over fill is that the steering gear/ram can sometimes burp back some fluid. It will come out the top of the reservoir and make a big mess.
Other than that you would be doing any damage by over filling.

Not knowing what type of reservoir we're working with here, I'd say keep it about an 1½" from the cap.
