68 power steering issue
Working on a 68 with the 428 replaced power steering pump and will not work. replaced with another pump thinking new one was bad still no pressure. Pulled high pressure line and turned motor over and nothing comes out of pump. Any ideas?
Did you prime the pump first? Did you have the front wheels loaded when you tried it out?
Bench bleed the pump before installing. Then to test after install, get the front wheels off the ground so there is no load on the steering system. Start the car and rotate the steering wheel a little bit each direction, going a little further each time until you get to full lock both ways. Turn it off. Check the fluid level and top it off. After that put it back on the ground and it should be good to go.

if you have fluid and you pulled the high pressure line and started your car and nothing came out either the line is plugged or the pump is bad. its that simple. many rebuilt pumps and power valves are bad unfortunately.
