Default Distributor installation

I can find TDC on #1 but I am not sure where the rotor should be pointing. Does anyone have any advice on the right way to put my dizzy back in? I know once I get it close I can time it later but I am not sure where to put it to get it close enough.

Thanks

The way you do it is after you have the distributor in set the cap on like it is supposed to go have it on tdc get the number one plug wire and put it on the on the stud that that rotor is pointing at.

Ok, so it does not matter which way the dist points when I put it in, it is that the #1 wire is where the rotor points when #1 piston is at TDC.

If that is what you mean I understand, Thank you.

Your right. If it does not run it is probably 180 out so do what i said and if it wont crank pull out the dist and turn the rotor 180 around. or you can put it on tdc and stick a screwdriver in the number 1 piston hole and if the piston is all the way up do what i said earlier
