Default 65 fastback t5 conversion engine mount problem

Hey every, i've got a 65 fastback i've been working on for the past couple years and i ran into a problem today. The car has a 302 in it with a T5 transmission and in an effort to properly locate the shifter in the transmission tunnel (without cutting the floor) i bought a set of ron morris engine mounts. I installed the right mount just fine but when i got to the left mount it hit against the left exhaust manifold. On the manifold it has the numbers c30e-9431-b and it probably doesnt matter but it is somewhat different in length than the right manifold (numbered 04ze-9430-a). Any suggestions for which exhaust manifold to go with?

Seems the tranny should fit into the shifter cavity without issue, given the T-5 is properly installed, without any different engine mounts.
Best,
Al

Only issue I see here with the trans is what year the trans came out of. 94-95 t5 trans used a slightly longer input shaft and a slightly longer bell housing, about 1" difference between the fox body t5 and the sn95 t5s. The longer bell and input shaft was so that the trans would line up in the shifter cavity of the tunnel on the sn95s.

Installing an sn95 trans into a foxbody or older mustang needs to have the fox bellhousing and input shaft.

Interesting, mine rubs at the front of the opening for the shifter. It does shift through the pattern but it has cut through the rubber boot via rubbing. In order to center the shifter i measure that i need to move the engine/transmission 3/8" aft which is more play than are in the stock mounts. I'm not sure what year the tranny is as it came with the car.

This is about the same for my 69, but no cuts thru the boot.

Maybe since its a fast back you need the sn95 trans bell and input shaft? Im not familiar with the classic body styles but it seems the sn95 body style is similar to the fastback, while the foxes are more similar to the coups.

I think the wheel base and other dimensions are the same. In retrospect, the later model T5 would have been better, but I'll stick to and deal with my shorter Gforce T5.

I just researched the part numbers on the casting for the exhaust manifolds, it appears they are the hi-po headers meant for a 289. They aren't even that rusty i'm fairly sure they're nearly brand new just bolted on. Any idea if those drop further down or hug the block more closely than the stock headers?

IIRC, they do the opposite of stock manifolds and try to be headers.
