PAINT - PPG 2 stage solvent base not water base unless you want single stage for conccours shows.

PRIMER - PPG solvent base red oxide primer with 20% ppg black primer added . . the straight red is way too dalmon color the black will make it passable for MCA concopurs shows.

if you want the orig look mix the primer thin and spray it heavy from directly underneath so it gets several drips in it.

all the machined areas on the pumpkin should be bare . . i paint these areas with cast gray

INTERIOR - Charcoal Black PPG 32586

That was the original color combo of my 68 S code convertible as well, paint code Y and interior code 2A. Nevermind it had been repainted red when I bought it lol.

sorry but i don't understand your question . . the engine compartment is like a semigloss black . . its around 32% flattened . . i make them a little bit shinier than stock so they look more flashy when you look at them but still look pretty stock . . on some cars i make them almost full gloss.

this is like stock and looks like c__p imo . . notice the run on the passenger shock tower.

.
this is also in the stock range.

.
slightly shinier and still ok for concours

.
i do them like this which is a bit more shiny but might get points dedicted in a show.

.
this is full gloss and needs a bit of contrast like silver shock tower brace and shock bracket bolts etc..

.

.
