Okay I think i have a suspension problem.
My car has been sitting for a while as some of you know. Today i noticed that my driver side tires are very close to being flat. The car is sitting higher up on the passenger side then the driver side. (leaning.) Whats wrong with my suspension?
i had this same problem when i first brought my stang home from sitting in a garage for 20 years. i dont think your has sat that long, but my problem was a case of bad shocks. it may sound weird but you have to figure where all the weight of your car mainly is... you driver side. i believe its a combonation of driving the car all the time, and the shocks compressing, and maybe when it sits, the shocks loose there rigitity. it could be a bad spring, although unlikely, but your best bet would be to fill up the tires and maybe get a couple miles on the car, if the problem persists, look into getting new shocks, no luck then, start checking out the suspension. hope this helps!
Take the front tires off and take them to a station and have them filled to 32 pounds of pressure. Put them back on, and then put your weight on the fender and push the car down as hard as you can. Does is spring back up? How did it sit after the tires were inflated?
Did you air up the tires first before you tried that? If not, it won't spring back up much because the frigging tire is flat. Go get the tires aired up first, then try it. If, after you don't get much spring then you either have a shock or coil spring or some other problem with the suspension. But, first get the tires aired up. You also have grease zerks on many of the suspension parts that need greasing. Go buy yourself a grease gun with a tube of grease and thoroughly grease those zerks. Especially the upper control arm.
No, before the tire was flat my dad sat on the fender, and it very slowy sprung up. You can also like lift the car and the shock will stay extended.
