Default 302 carb issues

I have a 67 fastback with a 302. The engine is freshly rebuilt but I am having some issues with the carburetor. The car fires up great and Idols well. If I hold the gas down the engine runs steady, but as soon as I let off the gas it dies. I have adjusted the idol in both directions and no change. Does anyone have any input on what this may be or what to check. I just bought this project a couple months ago and have not been able to take it out for a drive with this issue. Please help!!

It's def your idle screws, turn them both clockwise until you feel a slight tension then back out 3/4 turn. Start from there and play with them but very small increments. Also there an adjustment screw on the gas lever which can increase your rpm slightly . Play with all three and you'll be fine
