Fuel line options
I have a 1966 mustang coupe with a 289. I know that they have hard (metal) fuel lines from the tank to the fuel pump and the fuel pump to the crab with a small amount of rubber fuel line mixed in. I am replacing my fuel lines since the car sat for 3 years, installing a new tank etc. since I don't have access to a lift and bending fuel line and installing seems like a pain, is there any reason why you couldn't or shouldn't run the many options for soft (rubber or one of the many other variants) fuel lines?
Thanks for the input guys.
Thanks for the input guys.
Some options are running braided AN lines, buying pre bent steal lines. Or pulling the original lines out and bending the new ones to mirror the old ones off the car. Usually when you buy the pre bent ones they are already flared and come with the fittings. If you go with running braided steal or nylon lines it can be more expensive because the fittings are expensive. But looks very clean
I got the "pre-bent" SS fuel line from CJ Pony Parts, but it just looks so big and still requires some bending that replacing hard line for hard line while on my back seems near impossible. Do you know if there is any truth to having to replace the braided fuel line every couple of years (even the nice lined ones?). Or is that just the internet trolls spewing off bs again? Thanks for the help and input.

I have never heard of that. Race car guys have been using stainless braided for years and years. I just put the black nylon in my car and as log as you put the fittings together correctly. They will be very reliable
