This is the info on my cam. Trying to find the stuff for the rest of the stroker kit. The heads I used I think were part number 1458. But I'm not positive. They were 72cc 205 intake runners.

thats a nice cam, my friend just called comp directly and told them what he was running for stroker kit, and heads, and comp custom ground him a cam. you could always do the same

Thanks. That's not as severe as I thought it would be. Should be really healthy like that.

Have you used this company you linked?

Thank you.
As long as you don't go .030" over on the block and have a good cooling system, it will not run hot a 400 hp in the summer unless you live in phoenix az.

you dont want to go to 428 or 430 on a 351 windsor for a street car unless you use an after market block due to the poor rod ratio and short piston skirts . 418 is the biggest you want to go on a ford engine, and if you drive it daily and want it to last a very long time, then you should go slightly less.

the comp xe cams are decent but are a bit short on lift for stroker engines with good heads but you can compensate for that with 1.7 rockers . lunati voodoo cams were designed by the same guy that designed the comp cams and they have many good ones but the best cams for a windsor are probably the howards.

Here's how a howards solid roller with 269 276 . 236 242 .620 lift . 110 lsa sounds . i just finished helping my friend with this . the engine builder was a retard so i had to get a new cam and distributor and gear and solid core intake gaskets and special spark plugs and several other things to make it right.

this is starting it ice cold with no choke and 48 webers with the throttle 1/8 th down . it instantly idles which is extremely rare for an engine like this.

the cheapest way to get around 400 would be the following

dart or windsor 200 cc iron heads.

this cam

http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=880&sb=0

eddy air gap intake or vic junior

750 carb

10.0 compression

true roller timing chain

eagle chinese h bean rods

chinese damper

stock distributor . add a pertronix I if you want

MSD coil . the anti vibration one is far better than the other.

at least 3.73 gears

.

I tore down the 351w today. I couldn't have asked for better results. Its' the standard bore and journal sizes and everything looks great, no signs of anything bad happening.

The ridges are only 002-.005 and the taper is less than .003 top to bottom. I think I could cut the ridges, hone the bores, and go with that.. except I want to stroke it.
