67 mustang fastback
Hello I just got a 67 mustang. The title reads vehicle identification number but only shows az183750. The az stands for Arizona, the inside door jam has this as well. It's in mint condition. The tile also says 2s for body style. The 2 stands for fastback, the s I don't know. It's a 4 speed maunual.
The mustang is still 800 miles away, it was a family member that passed.
Every site says invalid vin
Any suggestions?
Thank u

Sorry to hear about the death in the family.
That is definitely an incomplete VIN. If you can, get someone to look on the door jam plate, the driver-side dash just inside the windshield (looking in from the outside), and the front left (I think) inner fender for the full VIN. Be aware that some or all of these parts could be changed out, and there are "hidden" VIN stamps in other places if you need to verify further.
The "S" could stand for the engine code ("S" code is the 390ci motor), but I'd like to see the whole VIN to verify that.

That is a state assigned VIN.
That means the car was either totaled and rebuilt with no way to save/know the original vin or was a theft recovery or had some other sort of nefarious thing happen to it in the past.
Not having a true mustang VIN will hurt value in the long run because there is no way to validate what the car was originally.
Looks like a nice enough car though if you aren't concerned about resale or originality.

Fantastic looking car, but I bet you can still find the original VIN unless your state did a really good job of removing all of the VINs from the vehicle.
Check in the places I mentioned and report back. If you can't find those VINs, there are a couple other hidden places to look.
