Default Overhead console bracket

Hey guys I don't have an overhead console to mock up but I got the bracket to install before my headliner so I can add the console later. When I hold it in place to attach the 3 screws, the rear most part of the bracket does not contact the roof and I am not sure if it is supposed to or not. It is a Scott Drake repro bracket that they "guarantee" the fit on but the longer tang part for the center screw is straight whereas some of the pictures I have found it has a bend to it which would allow the back to contact the roof. Without a console I am unsure what is correct. If it is supposed to contact the roof I would like to epoxy it in place so it's on there good but if it's supposed to free float I will leave it as is. For reference, here are some pics. I am on my phone so I'm having trouble embedding the pics:

The bracket, stock, how it comes, notice the longer piece is straight:

This pic however, it appears to be bent (from the lighting) which would raise the back of the bracket:

Lastly, this looks bent as well but it also has a foam spacer that is quite bigger than the one that came with my bracket:

Thanks guys
