Default 1969 1/2 ?

I have a Mustang that I bought 37 years ago. The build date was October 1969. Its titled as a 1970 Coupe Grande. The thing is, the whole rear clip is 1969. Quarters, tail light assembly, etc. The interior is 1970 as is the whole front clip. I have paint stripped the car many years ago (orange) and all the colors matched inside and out. It appears that rear clip is original. No new welds or anything like that. Is this car anything special? Just wondering.

Did you check the VIN on the front inner Fenders against the dash?. I have actually seen that combo before but always assumed they had a swapped out nose. What is the VIN?

Well then, that is pretty cool. Over the years I've seen a few with the wrong nose, honestly can't remember if they were '69 with a '70 nose or vise versa, but I always figured they were accident victims that were repaired with the other nose. Personally I like the '69 better than the '70, both front and back. Hard to tell if it has any value or not. to me it just looks like a mongrel.
EDIT: did a bit of research and the only reference to a '69 1/2 is for a promotional Mustang they called a 600, but it had a '69 nose. Sounds like a fake to me.

The strange thing s, I also thought it was a 69. I tried to replace the turn signal switch years ago with a part for a 69. It didnt fit. The 70 part did. Also the head light wiring harness only has two sockets. As like the 1970. So that means that someone would have to completely remove the whole rear end and replace it with 69 parts. ( which would make no sense) When stripped, all the factory lead seams were there and no 3rd party welding was done. PS.. I like the 69 better also.

I don't know what you intend to do with it, but if it were mine I'd swap the nose to a 69 and drive it. If you think it will be worth something some day then save the old nose. Personally I've never cared what my cars or trucks were worth, I just like to drive them daily.

Tried swapping the nose. Wiring harness is a 70. 69 has 4 headlights. 70 has 2 . As I am sure your aware of.

If you found a 69 or 70 barn find, I am sure you would care what it was worth.
