They have (or at least the era of the one I purchased) had a crappy design where the center cap would constantly fall off and the horn would engage, non-stop. So eventually I just pulled the wire for the horn in there. This was like 8 years ago.
But I'm selling the car and need to get it working again. So I've re-attached the wire and now the horn no longer works. I'm hoping there is some sort of hidden fuse or relay I don't know about. Or that if one of the horns quits the other does too. It seems unlikely that both would have burned out on me.
You didn't read the entire installation manual. If you don't cut the spring, sooner or later you will have smoke coming from the horn button.
The horn and brake lights have a circuit beaker in the light switch.

Perhaps you didn’t read the entire post. The horn worked just fine, the center cap, which holds the horn from engaging constantly falls off. That was the issue. Not faulty installation.
But I do appreciate the clarity about the circuit breaker in the light switch.
Was only joking because we did not read the fine print and did have smoke coming out of the steering wheel hub. Figured, maybe some other people took short cuts like us.
Sorry for the rash response then. But I love the photo of your 'Stang. I am going to miss the hell out of my car. But since I live in the city I never get to drive it. And feel like it should be out there on the road.

I only wish it were mine. It is my grandsons. He took it from the yellow unit to the red and learned how to weld, upholster, work on the engine, do the dash, put in new floor, front end and lots of other stuff. It really was a worth while project and now I don't ever hear " lefty-tighty, righty-loosy"!
